About us

Making reaction time testing simple, accurate and accessible for everyone

ReactionTestTime is a free toolkit for measuring, understanding and improving reaction time, built around precise browser timing, a transparent methodology and statistics that come only from real tests.

Our mission

Help people understand their reactions

Reaction time is one of the simplest things you can measure about how your brain and body work together, yet most online tests don't explain how they measure, and many publish averages nobody can verify. We want to do better: precise tests, clear explanations and honest data.

Guides and tests are written and reviewed by ADR.

What we do

  • Interactive tests

Nine tests covering visual, audio, keyboard, choice, aiming and F1-style start reactions.

  • First-party statistics

Anonymous results become averages, distributions and percentiles.

  • Educational guides

Sourced explanations of what affects reaction time.

  • Progress tracking

Your recent results and personal best, stored on your device.

Why it matters

Reaction time shows up everywhere

  • Gaming

Faster, more consistent responses matter in competitive play.

  • Sport

Starts, returns and saves all begin with a reaction.

  • Focus

Slower, more variable reactions can be a sign of fatigue.

  • Everyday life

From driving to catching a falling glass.

Our data philosophy

Real users. Real numbers. Nothing invented.

Every statistic on this site comes from anonymous tests completed on ReactionTestTime. We don't copy averages from other websites, and we don't display percentiles, rankings or user counts until there's enough real data to support them. Until then, you'll see “Data collection in progress.”

We never infer sensitive attributes like age or gender. Age statistics use only age ranges people choose to share.

Accuracy approach

Simple tests. Careful measurement.

Tests run entirely in your browser using the high-resolution performance.now() clock. Signals appear after random delays, early responses are rejected, and your result is calculated before anything is sent over the network, so your connection speed can never affect it.

We're also honest about limits: browser tests include device latency and are not medical measurements.
